Dream

DREAM, which stands for Drug Resource Enhancement against AIDS and Malnutrition, is a programme with a holistic approach to treating AIDS in Africa. It was launched in February 2002 by the Community of Sant’Egidio, which is currently active in ten African countries: Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, the Republic of Guinea, Malawi, Madagascar, Cameroon, Gabon, Liberia, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and the Central African Republic.
Many activists, who were among the first patients of the DREAM project, now promote the information campaigns on the treatment of AIDS, from their villages to Europe. Over 100 activists from the 10 African nations involved in the project participated in the Fourth International DREAM Conference, held in Rome on 15 May 2008. Marco Delogu portrayed them against a white ground, conveying the broad scope of their conscious commitment, projected towards the future.
