Soli neri

Following on from the horses and the nature bianche I was looking for a little colour. It began in winter with a single bare tree. Then there was the Valle Felicioas series exhibited in phc 09 and the Lugoland project in between. I’m continuing with this strange and essential research. I’m working with distance (how near? how far?). I like the return of light in the camera which creates a strange “torch” opposing the black sun, but I don’t make this a distinctive feature of the work. Everything moves in a fleeting balance between form, matter, proportion and meaning (is it a work about place or is it universal? And I'm increasingly drawn to the passing of the seasons.) These are the first photographs from the next exhibition.
